Hello everyone!
I have always been curious about bookish things and so I decided to take the leap and order my first book box ever! There are a lot of companies out there but I loved Fairyloot’s theme ‘Unlikely Romances‘ (I’m a sucker for the enemies to lovers trope). It’s the May box but the shipping was later than expected so I only received it on June,3rd! I thought I’d share the items here! 🙂 Enjoy!
First, take a look at the packaging: I love the quote!
“Fairy tales are mire than true: noy because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten.” – GK Chesterton & N Gaima
The book of the month (published later than expected) is The Beholder by Anna Bright!
Synopsis: It follows a story about a girl that is sent to other kingdoms with the objective of finding a suitor and each of the potential suitors is inspired by a mythical figure!
This edition has sprayed edges, foiling on the title and it’s signed by the author! The character art card is illustrated by @rachelhanke27
On to the first item: A stunning Bamboo Travel Mug inspired by Tahereh Mafi’s Ignite Me. I love the fact that it’s eco-friendly and the quote: “I spent my life folded between the pages of books” “Ignite my love, Ignite.”
Then there is a beautiful Pencil Case inspired by Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor designed by Literary Lifestyle Company. I haven’t read it but it’s on my TBR list! Apparently, the book has “the most unique, complicated and unlikely book romances” (Fairyloot). There is a Magnus and Alec (Shadowhunter books by Cassandra Clare) sticker by @obsidiayan. A fun Mint Tin by Fairyloot and a Magnetic Bookmark set by @lexaarts_ inspired The Wrath and The Dawn (hello Sharzad and Khalid) and The Dawn and Flame by Renee Ahdieh!
Then there is a super cool Crown keychain by Fairyloot from my favourite series at the moment: The Cruel Prince by Holly Black! You can’t tell but there is the iconic quote: “Kiss me until I am sick of it”
My favourite item of the box: a Starfall Candle inspired by A Court of Thorns and Roses series Sarah J. Mass. The design is by @taratjah. It’s the best thing ever and it smells soooo good!
Scent: Bamboo, Fresh Lilies and soft woody notes
There’s a Notepad perfect for my To-Do list, inspired by Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan
“Instead of disappearing, she makes me feel reappeared. Reimagined.”
There are Tarot Cards of my favourites: Inej and Kaz from Leigh Bardugo’s Six of Crows! They are designed by @artbyemmilinne and I love it so very much! Those were the last ones and the next box will include Harry Potter Tarot cards!
And to finish, there is a Tea Towel inspired by The Selection series by Kiera Cass! The characters are drawn by @taratjah and lettering is done by @catarinabookdesigns! The couple featured is America and Maxon! I love it!!
“True love is usually the most inconvenient kind”
Hope you enjoyed this! What are your favourite items in the box? Have you ever received a bookish box? – Let me know!
Karla 🙂
