Review:
WOW THIS WAS SPECTACULAR.
Incredibly better than the first book. This book was a rollercoster of emotions: joy, fear, pain, stress. Incredibly well-written and well-thought. The plot is out-of-this-world. Sarah J. Maas has such a unique way of telling stories and keeping the reader hooked until the very end. I adored it!!
I loved how the author broke the “love triangle” while still somehow maintaining it. Chaol and Celeana’s relationship did not feel rushed; on the contrary, it was believable and complex – just like them. I loved how Celeana and Dorian’s relationship shifted but still remained full of love, tenderness and respect.
Also honorable mention to Celeana for entering my favourite female characters ever. “Badass” doesn’t even begin to cover it. She’s strong, honest, vulnerable, passionate and caring. She feels things deeply and is much more vulnerable than she lets on. I love her!
This book contains exactly what I’ve been missing with the first book. That suspense, that sense of danger and that final revelation. Not to brag here but I kind of saw it coming; however it was incredibly well-thought. I love how reading a Sarah J. Maas book feels like reading a detective book: she leaves all of these clues that both the characters as well as the readers have to figure out.
Sarah J. Maas has an ability to create credible and amazing character development. It allows for the characters to change as well as still keeping that essence that makes them who they are.
I’m really excited about Dorian having magic and how that will impact the plot later.
My heart hurts over the death of a certain character but Chapter 25 was only a page-long and it contains all the secrets of that sacrifice.
Fantastic book. I’m really blown away by it!
Hope you liked my review! Have you read the book? What did you think? Let me know in the comments 🙂

I feel like they get bigger and bigger; the size of Kingdom Of Ash is scary 😂 But the story and the characters are so addicting! I can’t wait to read the next one ☺️

I felt like it took me a month to read every book lol. She has this way of making you fall in love with a relationship and than boom it’s gone. I love that

If I hadn’t been on holiday it would have taken me a month as well (and I’m a slow reader too). And you somehow root for whatever relationship she writes and then you’re like “how did I think they were made for each other?” Haha

I’m so glad you enjoyed it. After reading the first three books thrice each, I came to the conclusion that TOG isn’t actually the series for me. 🙈

Thrice?! At least no one can say you didn’t try haha 😂 I’m not a fan of the first book but this one was amazing! I’ll see what the third one has in store…
There are too many books out there to waste time on ones you don’t enjoy anyway 😉

I know, right? 😂 Everyone said Heir Of Fire was the book where the actual story started taking place but I guess I didn’t get that feeling.
Precisely. Plus, I’m in a more contemporary mood at the moment, so I’ll only finish the fantasies I’m currently reading and then get back to the genre later in the fall.

I completely understand what you mean! I felt that for the first book and I nearly didn’t read this one, but I’m glad I did.
Fall is the PERFECT time to read fantasies! I can’t wait for the release of Queen of Nothing by Holly Black in November😊

GIRL I love this series!!! If you think it’s already awesome, just wait until the later books *crazily ships everyone with everyone* Honestly CoM was SO everywhere, what with the revelations (I honestly didn’t see it coming XD) and death and relationships- I really liked how Celaena (or should I call her A???) and Chaol left off in a kinda truce? GOSH I love herrr!
HoF is hard to adjust to because that’s when you really meet the characters and fall in love- but you have to get used to reading A instead of Celaena XD which is annoying at the beginning. AHH I wish I could rediscover this whole series!! You have to keep me posted on your progress!
P.S. KoA is 998 pages 😉

YES! Sarah J. Maas is the queen of (misleading) relationships!
Everyone says Heir Of Fire is the book where everything really steps up and becomes entertaining!
I’m so anxious about it because I know I’m going to be an emotional wreck after finishing it haha 😂 Everyone calls her A now and it’s actually a good thing because I didn’t get spoiled that way! But I feel like the name change will lead to her changing somehow?
Of course I’ll keep you posted! 🥰
KoA’s size is SCARY!

It can be awesome… or super frustrating!! 😄
Yes, but HoF is probably my second least fav actually (ToG is my least fav) because Aelin is SO angsty it’s annoying haha. It does really up the stakes and get into backstory, though!
Ooh yes, you’re going to want the next books on hand, especially after the fifth book!! Keep EoS and ToD close by, haha. Yeah, she does change and you can see that!
Yay!!
Aha I own it and I finished it in four days 😉

Well thanks for the tip! And you will have an annoyingly lengthy review on the books when I’ll finish them haha 😉
Four days?! My sister took a MONTH to finish it 😱
