Reading Year

My 2020 Reading Goals

Hello lovelies! Last post of the year! How quickly it went by…I am very excited for the New Year and everything it will bring. I am ready to start over! Hope you will all have an amazing year. In the meantime, here are my reading goals for 2020!

Read 50 books

This year I have managed to read 45 books and it’s pretty good but I want to read more and more consistently! So here’s to hoping I read 50 books in 2020.

Read more French and English classics

This is something I really wanted to do for a while. As a girl who will major in English Literature I feel like this is almost a given. There are so many great classics out there and I really want to read them this year!

Post more reviews

I started truly getting serious about my blog during the summer and it reminded me of how much I like to share my thoughts on books and discuss my favourite, quotes, characters and plots!

Read more autobiographies and self-help books

Reading Becoming by Michelle Obama has been like an epiphany for me. Who knew reading about other people’s lives could be so inspirational ? (Everyone except me it seems).

Read books in German without help

I am German-born but since I moved to France, I have kind of forgotten my German. I really want to improve my skills this year and I hope I will be able to read in German without having to look for the translation every 5 seconds.

Finish the Lux series

I only have one book left and it is over! I have been postponing reading it because I don’t want the series to end but I’m also very curious to see how everything falls into place.

Finish the Throne of Glass series

I liked Crown of Midnight more than Throne of Glass but not enough to pick up the third book. But I will, I will, I will.

Finish the Lunar Chronicles series

I still have to read Cress and Winter and I cannot wait! I am a sucker for retellings (as you know) and I’m really excited to see how it all wraps up!

Read the Bible

This is a little bit personal but I really want to read the Bible from beginning to end. I am Christian and I know the important texts enough, but the Bible (and religion in general) has influenced our society so much and I want to understand the roots of it all.And you can be sure there are references to the Bible in many great works of Literature, so that’s also a big reason.

What are some of your reading goals for 2020? Let me know in the comments!
