GOODREADS MONDAY – January, 6th, 2020

Hello lovelies and welcome to the first Monday of the year!

Goodreads Monday is a weekly meme that was started by @Lauren’s Page Turners. The meme is pretty easy to follow, to participate simply choose a random book from your TBR and explain why you want to read it!

Author: Louisa May Alcott

Synopsis: Grown-up Meg, tomboyish Jo, timid Beth, and precocious Amy. The four March sisters couldn’t be more different. But with their father away at war, and their mother working to support the family, they have to rely on one another. Whether they’re putting on a play, forming a secret society, or celebrating Christmas, there’s one thing they can’t help wondering: Will Father return home safely? (Amazon summary)

Rating: 4.06/ 5 stars

WHY I WANT TO READ IT

Of course I had to feature this book. I have been meaning to read it for a while and now I have an excellent reason to do so, with Greta Gerwig’s new movie adaptation of the book! I really LOVE the cast and I want to see the movie as soon as I can but I really want to read the book first! Apparently the ending of the movie is a little different from the book but I still want to be familiar with the characters and the plot firdt. I have put it off so long because of its length too, but I am really motivated!

Have you read this book? What did you think? Let me know in the comments! 🙂

  1. I’ve read this book and I thought it was really cute! I don’t think it’s my favorite classic though. But I have to say that I LOVE this cover! I love how many editions there are of classics. I find that I’m much more likely to read a daunting book if the cover makes me happy, like this one does!
