Hello lovelies!
I hope you are all well and safe. In times like these, I have never been more grateful for books and the escapism they offer. I thought I would share my “feel-good books”, that is to say, books that bring me comfort and warmth. Hope you will enjoy this list!
The Book of Ivy series
Why you should read it: This is probably my favourite duology ever. The plot is insanely well-thought and the main characters have insane chemistry. I love the writing style and all the little details that make this duology as great as it is. Perfect for escapism.
The Selection series

This is a very known and beloved series in the book community; rightfully so. It can be described as The Bachelor, meets dystopia, meets rebellion meets The Hunger Games? Does that make sense?
Isla and the happily after

This is part of a series but it can be read as a standalone. This book features my favourite first chapter of a book ever. This is a cute contemporary read and at some point the characters visit a city and I liked their journey so much that I went on holiday there. It is that good.
Fangirl

If your freshman year of college was less than idyllic then this is for you. Ut debunks certain myths (in a cool way), features a girl writing Harry Potter fan fiction (You can read the book she supposedly writes, it’s called (Carry On),and simultaneously tackles subjects such as abandonment and sisterly jealousy. Once again, in a cool way. AND it features a great love story of course. I need a Levi in my life.
Since You’ve Been Gone

If you miss summer, like hunts and coming of age story this is for you. I always say Morgan Matson is the queen of Summer Contemporary, because she is. Simple as that.
Six of Crows duology
I am a huge fan of heists. All the thinking and preparation that went into this story is amazing. It also features a badass crew called The Dregs and you will love every character as much as the next; especially the mastermind behind it all: Kazans Brekker.
Geekerella

I love fairytale retellings. This is a take on Cinderella with a twist- It features cosplay, geeks, a magic pumpkin and a charming prince (kind of). This was so heartwarming and cute. The characters use special terms of endearment that make my heart melt. –
A Court of Thorns and Roses series
This is one of the best book series that I have ever read. The plot is out-of- this-world amazing, and the characters feel so real, that you sometimes forget that they do not exist; in this reality at least. it’s one of these series that stays with you long after you’ve finished it.
To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before series

Why you should read it: It’s a very cute series, very easy and quick to read. The characters are lovable, the plot is strong and well-written and it is a story about firsts, love, betrayal, sisterhood and family. I highly recommend. (Watch the movies if you can; if you haven’t already!)
Great list! I just got the box set of To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and I can’t wait to dive in!! 😀
