Hello lovelies!
I am kind of late for this tag, but technically the month of June was part of the first half of the year, so the books I read in June count on my challenge and rules are made to be broken.
1. HOW MUCH HAVE YOU READ?

I have never been ahead of schedule ever!! With quarantine I have purchased a lot of books, but thankfully I have been reading a lot as well!
2. WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN READING?
I have tried stepping out of my comfort zone a little at the beginning of the year, but I have read a lot of fantasy and romance! I have been reading much more and even tried reading every day for a while.
3. BEST BOOK YOU’VE READ SO FAR IN 2020
Yes, I’m going to cheat and I’m going to include multiple books, because once again rules are made to be broken. (I don’t know why I repeatedly say this since I usually follow rules haha).
4. BEST SEQUEL YOU’VE READ SO FAR IN 2020

Cress was my favorite book of the Lunar Chronicles series! i loved how candid and brave Cress is! This book perfectly prepared us for the big finale that Winter was and we got to see all of the characters working together and fighting for Cinder. Besides, my favorite ship from the series is Cress and Thorne! I loved how much angst and misunderstanding there was between them. Especially when they were separated from the group for a little while. It was wonderful.
5. NEW RELEASE YOU HAVEN’T READ YET, BUT WANT TO
6. MOST ANTICIPATED RELEASE FOR THE SECOND HALF OF THE YEAR
Blood and Honey is HANDS DOWN my most anticipated release for 2020! I have been counting down the days for this gem. Serpent and Dove was one of my favorite books of 2019 and I. CANNOT. WAIT.
I also can’t wait for Midnight Sun. I will read the whole Twilight series before it comes out. I am a huge fan of the movies (controversial, I know) and I even had a marathon during quarantine with my sister; I cannot wait to read Edward’s point of view!
7. BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT

Before you kill me for this I have to say that I enjoyed this book, but that I expected to love it. I loved the world-building, the history of the maji and all the great representation but I really don’t like Zélie so it was hard for me to enjoy the book. I love Amari because I see a lot of myself in her and I didn’t like how she was not given enough credit, especially in the second book, which was a let down.
8. BIGGEST SURPRISE

As a French person, this book shouldn’t have been a surprise, but that’s because I don’t like listening to people. Everyone raved about this book and for some reason I’ve never read it before. I read it for my OWLS challenge this year and I cried my eyes out at the end. It was a very good surprise!!
9. NEW FAVOURITE AUTHOR (DEBUT OR NEW TO YOU)
I mean I liked Marissa Meyer, but after reading Cress and Winter, I want to read EVERYTHING that woman has written. Even her groceries list.
10. UNDERRATED GEMS YOU’VE DISCOVERED RECENTLY
The first book is an ARC I received! I didn’t expect it to be so well-written and gripping. I really grew attached to the characters and the story. It was empowering and raw and I liked every second. The second is the first books of a series which are retellings of Greek myths with a modern twist. I read Alexa last year (my first f/f book which I loved that was a retelling of Athena) and this one was a retelling of the Greek god Hephaïstos). The books have not been translated to English but if you can read it in French, I highly recommend it!!
11. REREADS THIS YEAR
I scarcely reread books but Daisy Jones and the Six is part of my all-time favorite books. I love this story with a passion and I really needed to reread it to heal. The second time around wasn’t better. It made me love it even more.
12. NEWEST FICTIONAL CRUSH
The problem is that Trevor Noah is very real and that I am in love with him. If he were fictional that would explain his perfection but he is a real human being8 HOW? He is smart, funny, handsome and well-spoken. Born A Crime (I highly recommend the audiobook), is hands down one of the best books ever.
13. BOOK THAT MADE YOU CRY

Listen. I cried for thirty minutes when I finished Call Me By Your Name. That last page killed me. It wasn’t extremely sad but those words just hit home.
14. BOOK THAT MADE YOU HAPPY

Words cannot describe how I felt when I read this story. I loved the character’s relationship. I loved how Alexa was described and everything she stood for. That is the kind of positive representation I needed to see younger and that I still need to see. It was a cute, steamy and honest romance! I highly recommend it.
15. MOST BEAUTIFUL BOOK YOU’VE BOUGHT SO FAR THIS YEAR (OR RECEIVED)
16. GOALS FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR
I really want to read 50 books and more. I have purchased so many books and there are so many books I have yet to read and that is a little overwhelming! I’m still happy that I am ahead on my Goodreads challenge.
17. BOOKS YOU NEED TO READ BY THE END OF THE YEAR
That’s it! I hope you enjoyed and thank you for reading!

I’m in love with Trevor Noah too, I just don’t understand how someone like him just… exists
