Hello lovelies!
This is my weekly check-in where I tell you what I have been reading for my project of reading 10 books in three weeks and how it’s going!
I was in a reading slump at the beginning of the week but I have managed to read 3 books between July 27th and August 2nd.
Clap When You Land was a very quick read because it was written in verse and it was nice to skim through it. It had heavy subjects but it was beautifully written.
I read The Wicker King in a sitting! This book had highly been recommended to me and I really enjoyed it but the darker elements of the story disturbed me because I went into the book blindly. However it was a cool new way of reading with files, and titles at the beginning of every page, as well as the pages darkening along one of the character’s sanity. I think you have to be in a certain “mood” to read this and I wasn’t; It was incredibly sad.
Her Royal Highness was my Pride book of the month and it was a fun, sweet contemporary read. I recommend!
Currently reading
I’m currently reading the second book of The Raven and the Dove series which is an ARC sent by the editor and I’m really enjoyIng it! It has a strong and solid plot. I’m hoping to finish it today. Then I would like to read Girl, Woman, Other for The Join The Six Readathon and Get a Life, Chloe Brown, for a lighter contemporary read because I’m reading a lot of heavy books.

I’ve heard such great things about The Wicker King and it’s a book I definitely want to get to at some point. I read Clap When You Land a month or two ago and enjoyed it, but it was definitely a heavier read. Good luck on your reading project! 😀
