While the pair attempt to smoke out the Blood Witch at a house party, Hannah meets Morgan, a cute new ballerina in town. Title: The Handmaid’s Tale

Author: Margaret Atwood

Blurb (Goodreads): Offred is a Handmaid in the Republic of Gilead. She may leave the home of the Commander and his wife once a day to walk to food markets whose signs are now pictures instead of words because women are no longer allowed to read. She must lie on her back once a month and pray that the Commander makes her pregnant, because in an age of declining births, Offred and the other Handmaids are valued only if their ovaries are viable. Offred can remember the years before, when she lived and made love with her husband, Luke; when she played with and protected her daughter; when she had a job, money of her own, and access to knowledge. But all of that is gone now…

Title: A Room of One’s Own

Author: Virginia Woolf

Blurb: In A Room of One’s Own, Virginia Woolf imagines that Shakespeare had a sister. A sister equal to Shakespeare in talent, and equal in genius, but whose legacy is radically different. This imaginary woman never writes a word and dies by her own hand, her genius unexpressed. In this classic essay, Virginia Woolf takes on the establishment, using her gift of language to dissect the world around her and give voice to those who are without. Her message is a simple one: women must have some money and a room of their own in order to have the freedom to create.

Reading Year

My Year 2017 in Books

I wish you all a Happy New Year; I hope your dreams and aspirations will come true whether it’s health, money, love or success. Also long time no-see and I’m deeply sorry. I know most people me included don’t hold their New Year’s resolutions but I’m going to try to update more this year.

Unfortunately due to many factors, I only read 17 books, which is a huge disappointment to my initially 50, then 35 books challenge. I will give you the stats Thanks to Goodreads and I will also tell you which were my favorite books, my least favorite ones and general commentaries. Enjoy!

My favorite Duologies

Duologies are a rare and almost extinct species. They also happen to be my favourite kind of books. In honour of me finishing my favourite duology-turned-trilogy “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before”  (ironic, I know), I decided to share a list of some of my favourite duologies! The order is random, and not ranked to favourite-to-least favourite.
