My favourite audiobooks ðŸŽ§ðŸ“š

September has been an incredibly busy month for me (the busiest month of the year, if we’re being honest) and audiobooks have been my lifeline when I was commuting to and from classes. I know some people are still hesitant on giving audiobooks a chance, so I thought I would make a short list of some of my favourite audiobooks, that will both appeal to beginners as well as seasoned readers. I hope you’ll enjoy them as much as I do if you give them a chance!

Synopsis: A gripping novel about the whirlwind rise of an iconic 1970s rock group and their beautiful lead singer, revealing the mystery behind their infamous break up.
Everyone knows Daisy Jones & The Six, but nobody knows the real reason why they split at the absolute height of their popularity…until now.
Daisy is a girl coming of age in L.A. in the late sixties, sneaking into clubs on the Sunset Strip, sleeping with rock stars, and dreaming of singing at the Whisky a Go-Go. The sex and drugs are thrilling, but it’s the rock and roll she loves most. By the time she’s twenty, her voice is getting noticed, and she has the kind of heedless beauty that makes people do crazy things.
Another band getting noticed is The Six, led by the brooding Billy Dunne. On the eve of their first tour, his girlfriend Camila finds out she’s pregnant, and with the pressure of impending fatherhood and fame, Billy goes a little wild on the road.
Daisy and Billy cross paths when a producer realizes the key to supercharged success is to put the two together. What happens next will become the stuff of legend.

Why I love it: What is "anotherbookworm" post if I don't mention Daisy Jones and the Six at least once? This book converted me to audiobooks and the cast was so spectacular that it made the book part of my top 3 all-time favourite books. It is is told through articles and interviews so the format couldn't be better for an audiobook, not to mention an all- star cast. If you need an extra push, the book is currently being adapted by Reese Witherspoon's production company with Sam Claflin and Riley Keough in the leading roles!

The Last Ten Books – Book Tag

Hello lovelies!

I was tagged by the lovely Margarida @IcthusBookCorner to do the The Last Ten Books Tag !! Thank you so much for tagging me on this fun tag and if you’re not familiar with her blog, go check it out everyone!

Last Book I Gave Up On

I rarely DNF books so I kind of do *research* before diving into a book of the tropes it contains and I read reviews of people I trust to avoid this. Since I can’t remember a book I recently gave up on, I’m going to tell you about the only book I gave up on and that is sadly Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë. No one is sadder than I am about not liking this book! It is constantly on my mind and every year I try to convince myself to read it!

The Last Book I Reread

I scarcely reread books because I’m a very slow reader and my TBR is never ending so I don’t have the luxury of rereading. Though, last year, for the first time ever I reread Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid which made me realize that this book is my favourite book ever.

The Last Book I Bought

I was supposed to be on a book buying ban for the whole month of March after my frantic buying in February…well I failed. In my defense, I bought a book I’ve always been curious about. The Shadowhunters universe is everywhere and with the release of Chain of Iron, I thought now was as good a time as any to catch up on the series! I bought a second hand copy of City of Bones and it only cost me 1€ which is really nothing; so did I really buy it? (yes, I’m in denial.).

The Last Book I Said I Read But Didn’t

Haha I rarely say I read a book but didn’t because I’m always so excited to talk about books and if someone engaged a conversation with me about said book and I had nothing to say it would be tragically embarrassing.

Last Book I Wrote in the Margins of

Okay so I didn’t really write in the margins but I highlighted some parts of Act your Age, Eve Brown because well, the book was excellent and it was my ARC copy; I’m going to buy a finished and immaculate copy so it’s fine.

Last Book That I Had Signed

Getting books by English speaking authors in FRANCE is a struggle so the last copy that I had signed was actually The Beholder by Anna Bright which I got from A FairyLoot special edition.

Last Book I Lost

*scoffs* I don’t lose books; who do you think I am? (just kidding, I lose everything; I just can’t remember the last book I lost.

Last Book I Had To Replace

I never had to replace a book, thankfully!

Last Book I Argued Over

I actually argued over The Princess Trap with my sister who I basically forced to read the book! She had some opinions on the book and I had mine! She’s still currently reading it so I hope she ends up enjoying the book a little more.

Last Book You Pre-Ordered

Funny story, after my last mishhap with preordering How the King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories I decided that I was cursed. I’ve only had catastrophic stories with preordering books which is a shame because I really want to support authors and some of the books coming out genuinely interest me! But no pre-oredring for me to spare me the frustration, tears, money and anger it induces. I have learned my lesson.

Feel free to do this tag if you want to!!

Top 5 Tuesday – Top 5 characters I would dress up as!

Hello lovelies!

Here’s my weekly Top 5 Tuesday created by the wonderful Shannah @Bionic Bookworm Blog and hosted by Meeghan @Meeghan Reads (go check out their blogs; they’re amazing!). I am extremely excited for this week’s topic; I love fashion and I love books so this is basically a match made in heaven!

Nehemia Ytger from Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Look at the art; need I say more? I loved the description of her hairstyle in the books and I mean, she is a queen. I would love to have a queen’s wardrobe. They could made custom pieces for me.

Jude Duarte from The Cruel Prince by Holly Black

Art by wictorianart

Let’s be clear here: I want to be Jude. Any reason to channel her is a good enough reason for me. I love the beautiful gowns she gets to wear and her hair styled in horns is iconic.

Lola Nolan from Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins

Lola is a costume designer! Of course I would want to dress up as her! Her style is eccentric, daring and colorful; which is not how I usually dress but I would still enjoy dressing up as her. I really like clothes from other eras and Lola mixes them into her own style and i just like how confident she is.

Lara Jean Covey Song from To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han

Edit by Gorly Gorl on Picsart

Lara Jean as the cutest style ever. She’s very preppy and put together and I like all the dresses and pastel colors she wears. I would love to dress up as her! I think the movie did her justice and Lana Condor really made the style work.

Daisy Jones from Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

art by @ritwells (twitter)

Daisy wears men’s button down shirts as dresses, huge and gold bracelets and earrings and is often barefoot. I like how effortless and “cool” her style is. She exudes confidence and dressing up as her would help me channel that. Fake it until you make it right?

Who would you like to dress up as?

Daisy Jones and the Six is one of my all-time favorite books. It crushed me. It’s the only book I reread this year, so when I heard there was a readathon inspired by the book, I couldn’t miss the opportunity. I also thought that it would help me in my challenge to read 10 days in three weeks!

April Wrap-Up!

Hello lovelies!

I hope you are all well and safe. Being quarantined is starting to be a little hard but I am so grateful for everything I have and the conditions I am being quarantined in. One of the highlight of my quarantine has definitely been my free time, and by free time, I mean reading time. I had an amazing reading month, not necessarily in terms of quantity but certainly in terms of quality.
